The soul of Augusta: Proudly promoting local positives
“I just look at »Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ as an example of how things should be growing and improving and getting better. The influence that AU has is very impressive, and I'm just glad to be a part of it."
Committed to cultivating a welcoming environment for all students, faculty, and staff at »Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ
Working hand-in-hand with university administrative units, academic departments and senior leadership, the Office of Institutional Access, Success, & Belonging (ASB) strategically builds, aligns and coordinates efforts throughout the university to advance the organizational goals outlined in our strategic plan "Creating a Legacy Like No Other" and to enhance »Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ’s business operations.
In order to remain a destination of choice in today’s quickly evolving society, Augusta University understands that it must attract and develop talent from a broad array of backgrounds and experiences. Therefore, ASB works to foster an environment that celebrates unity and access to opportunity. We also promote cultural humility/responsiveness in which all backgrounds and cultures are valued. In addition, we emphasize respect, trust and empowerment, achieved through transparency, open communication, and the development of collaborative working relationships that extend beyond the campus to the surrounding communities that »Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ serves.
Our Certificate is a microcredential designed to increase awareness and understanding of the importance of cultivating a welcoming environment for all of the AU community. It is offered in partnership with Wellstar MCG Health and other campus leaders. This certificate reflects the university's commitment to cultivating a welcoming educational environment that prepares our students to thrive in our global society as well as effectively recruit and retain our faculty and staff.

"Students learn teamwork, project management, conflict resolution, communication skills, networking, critical thinking, problem-solving and much more."
Faculty, staff and students from »Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ can volunteer at Junior Achievement Discovery Center to help middle students learn valuable life skills, such as financial literacy and career readiness.
This significant investment was primarily aimed at bolstering areas where the university expects to see the most growth in core classes that first- and second-year students need to progress toward their degree, but the funding will also support all areas of enrollment growth through increasing student support in areas.
