Teaching Interests

The foundation of my teaching philosophy is built on three main principles: an active and diverse learning environment, a collaborative learning space, and a safe space for students. It is up to me to nurture my students, cultivate my craft, and provide a proper environment for growth. I believe that students learn best by being engaged in class activities coupled with traditional lecture. Each class and topic I teach are different, so my pedagogical approach is fluid. I incorporate lectures, class discussions, mock debates, research projects, and class activities within all my courses, so that my students can succeed no matter their learning style. I feel that learning happens not only within the classroom but also outside it, especially as students begin to develop their sociological imagination.
