Students at Schofield Middle School will act on the skills they’ve learned in their Social Studies Through Theater class when they participate in the Junior Model United Nations on March 16 at »Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ.
The Junior Model United Nations (JMUN) program at »Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ introduces middle school students to global challenges and allows them to learn about the culture and politics of another State.
Much like the college program, JMUN participants assume the perspective of a diplomat from a UN Member State and represent their position in a day-long simulation at Augusta University. Students are able to choose their State and conduct research prior to the conference in order to debate, negotiate, and work towards a realistic solution. The 10th annual JMUN Conference will be held at the Jaguar Student Activities Center (JSAC) on the Summerville Campus on March 5, 2024. The theme for the conference is: Rights of the Child.

As 150 middle school students from 11 schools in the Augusta area filled the ballroom of »Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ’s JSAC building Wednesday morning, they assumed the role of delegates representing more than 50 countries to target an issue relevant to area residents and the nation — cyber security.
Middle school students from across the region gathered at »Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ Summerville Campus on Wednesday for the fifth annual Junior Model United Nations Conference.
