A Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital and Visual Storytelling allows you to have a professional career in art by giving you hands-on skills in the techniques and technologies of your chosen field.  This program is a practice-intensive concentration giving students an exceptional range of creative skills to visually express ideas through film and performance. These include abstract problem-solving, critical thinking, performing, creative visioning, digital storytelling, and other professional practice skills related to visual and performing arts.

Our faculty are active artists, designers, and scholars with strong connections across the art world. They regularly bring visiting professionals into the classroom and studio, offering students opportunities to engage directly with artists and leaders through lectures, workshops, and critiques.

As part of one of Georgias four research universities, the department hosts a vibrant schedule of exhibitions, events, and field trips to regional art venues. These experiences extend learning beyond the classroom and connect students to the broader creative community.

The Mary S. Byrd Gallery of Art, located on campus, plays a central role in this environment. The gallery features thoughtful and relevant exhibitions by contemporary artists at all stages of their careers, providing students with ongoing exposure to current practices in the field.
