Provost Tomova

Maggy Tomova, PhD
EVP for Academic Affairs and Provost

is the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. In this role, Dr. Tomova will be responsible for advancing the university's mission, ensuring excellence, and fostering innovation in both the delivery of existing knowledge and the discovery of new knowledge.

The Provost is accountable for the achievement of the university’s strategic priorities, through actively engaging in planning and resource allocation to deliver tangible results and provide a foundation for future prosperity.

The Office of the Provost is committed to:

  • Enhancing academic quality in programs of instruction;
  • Fostering the development, improvement and recognition for the »Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓÆµ faculty; 
  • Driving services and programs that promote the success of our students;
  • Advancing processes that tie budgeting and effective resource allocation to our planning efforts; 
  • Ensuring AU's infrastructure provides support for the academic mission and the pursuit of academic excellence.

Initiatives

As »Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓÆµ pursues its mission of teaching, research and public service, the provost is leading several initiatives to enhance the excellence, impact and reach of our work. These multi-year initiatives involve faculty, students, staff and community members working together to find solutions to university issues.

Faculty Workload Initiative

This initiative establishes an institutional framework for faculty workload, outlining the crucial next steps for implementing new processes and policies to effectively assign and manage faculty responsibilities.

Regents' Entrepreneurs

The Board of Regents grants this designation to exceptional, full-time tenured faculty who are recognized for their successful innovation and translating their research into impactful commercial applications.
