Learning Like No Other

Each year the faculty nominate and select students for five departmental awards. Award recipients receive a certificate and are recognized at the annual Honors Convocation.
Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Nuclear Science
The Outstanding Undergraduate Student in NuclearScience Award recognizes the student
                        taking one or more of the nuclear sciences courses who most exhibits excellence, enthusiasm,
                        and service related to nuclear science. 
Best Undergraduate Research in Physics Award
The Best Undergraduate Research in Physics Award recognizes an outstanding undergraduate
                        research student in physics who has typically engaged for a year or more in a meaningful
                        project with a physics faculty mentor and has presented results at a professional
                        conference. 
Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Physics Award
The Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Physics Award honors the physics major who
                        exemplifies academic excellence, outstanding character, and service.
Ronnie L. Ezell Outstanding Leader in Physics Award
The Ronnie L. Ezell Outstanding leader in Physics Award is presented to a dedicated
                        physics major in appreciation for outstanding contributions to the department. The
                        award is named in honor of Professor of Physics and Chair Emeritus of the Department
                        of Chemistry and Physics Ronnie Ezell, who worked tirelessly as an advocate for advancement
                        of the Department and University. 
Academic Achievement Award
The Academic Achievement Award recognizes the graduating senior in the Department
                        of Physics and Biophysics with the highest GPA among College of Science and Mathematics
                        coursework.
