Check-In Process

Our 30-minute check-in process ensures that new Jaguars are moved in safely, efficiently and effectively. On your move-in date, during your designated move-in time slot, you will first report to the Student Center located at 1488 Laney Walker Blvd. Augusta, GA 30912. Then, while remaining in your vehicle, you will proceed through various check-in stations, ultimately arriving at the residence hall to unpack.  

The drive-through check-in process includes the following stations: 

1. • Welcome Station: Here, Jaguars will verify their name and check-in time. Then, you will receive a fill-out sheet to display in your window as you proceed through the check-in process. 
   • Check-In Station: Students will receive a welcome packet containing the residence hall key, information about upcoming events, a parking map and other parking information, a Housing & Residence Life lanyard, and then a specific-colored card that indicates any missing key information (e.g., missing vaccination records, JagCard or financial information). To have the check-in process go smoothly, ensure you have submitted all required student information prior to your move-in date.
   • Parking Decal Verification: This station will verify the vehicle’s parking decal and help maintain the flow of traffic.
   • Parking Station: AU staff will direct vehicles on the designated unloading zones and parking areas.
   • Unloading Zone: AU staff will unload the student’s personal items to bring up to their room. This area is strictly for unloading; you will need to move your car to a designated parking location once unloading is complete.
   • Residence Hall Check-In: While the vehicle is being unloaded, the student will go to their residence to check in. If there is outstanding information (e.g., missing vaccination records, JagCard or financial information), you will be directed on where to go.
