Summer Public Health Scholars Program

The IPPH Summer Public Health Scholars Program is a 8-week paid internship (25 hours per week) that includes hands-on experience and immersion in a public health research setting.

Scholars will attend weekly seminars and lectures with public health leaders. IPPH faculty members will mentor interns, exposing them to the breadth of public health. Interested students should identify up to 2 faculty members with whom they would like to work. More information can be about each faculty member, including a broad description of their research interests.

Eligibility

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree and be enrolled as a full-time student in an »Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓÆµ graduate or professional degree program. Applicants must be in good academic standing with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4-point scale).

The application deadline is March 20, 2026.

Application Process

1. Complete the Summer Scholar application
Please click on the "Apply Here" button and you will be asked to provide basic applicant information as well as brief responses to questions about research interest.

  • Why are you interested in the IPPH Summer Public Health Scholars Program? (Max 200 words)
  • How will the Summer Program experience help you reach your career objectives? (Max 200 words)
  • Describe one or more public health research topics in which you would like to conduct research. (Max 100 words)
  • What would you bring to the Summer Scholar program? (Max 100 words)

2. Submit Resume

You will need to submit a resume or CV containing current GPA via email with the e-mail header "2026 Summer Scholars Resume"

3. Qualifying applicants will be contacted for an interview 

Applicants will be notified via e-mail in April if they are selected for the program.
