honor society. Collectively, they seek to excel academically, philanthropically, and
socially, while remaining true to their own high standards, rituals, and traditions.
As a community, fraternities and sororities work together to fulfill »Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ’s
Greek Life core mission and values: scholarship, leadership, service, and friendship.

Not sure which chapter is for you?

We know it can be difficult to decide which chapter/organization you might want to
join. Here is some advice to think about that can help you narrow down your choices.

                        - Keep an open mind: The Greek chapter/organization that is best for your friends or family may not be
                           the best one for you.
- Why do you want to join? Are there qualities about the chapter/organization you are considering that reflect
                           your own?
- Do you feel comfortable? Take a look around you. The men/women that you are standing with could be your brothers
or sisters. Are you comfortable with this group?
- Ask questions! Get to know everything you can about each organization/chapter.
- Be yourself! With so many diverse chapters/organizations at AU, show them the real you to find
                           your best fit.

Sample questions to ask chapter members at Open House:

                        - What aspects of Greek Life encouraged you to join your chapter?
- What are the financial obligations of a new member? Are there additional costs that
members are required to pay other than the listed fees?
- How long is the new members program and how much time do I need to devote to it?
- What other campus organizations have you had an opportunity to participate in because
                           of your Greek experience?
- How does Greek Life promote scholarship?
- What is a philanthropy? What kinds of things do you do?
- What types of activities are planned with other Greek organizations?
