Molecular Oncology & Immunology

At the intersection of cancer biology and the immune system, the Molecular Oncology & Immunology PhD program at »Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ trains you to become a leader in translational medicine. You’ll explore how cell signaling, the extracellular matrix, and immune responses shape health and disease—gaining insight into the biological mechanisms of cancer and immune dysfunction. Supported by the Georgia Cancer Center and expert faculty mentors, you’ll conduct research that leads to innovative diagnostics, therapies, and biomarkers. MOI graduates advance into competitive postdoctoral training programs, academic faculty tracks, immuno-oncology biotech companies, and clinical research roles, where they continue developing life-changing cancer therapies.

Be the bridge between immunology and innovation. Join the MOI PhD program and help shape the next generation of cancer therapies.

Student Testimonials

Aderonke Fakayde

“This program has significantly enhanced my critical thinking, data analysis, and scientific communication skills. I have learned to navigate large datasets, interpret complex biological patterns, and present my findings clearly to both technical and general audiences.â€

Megh MOI

“I joined MOI because I realized it was the best program to learn more about my project and explore the role of the immune system in a broad context. I hope that the program helps me achieve that goal and also helps me become a better immunologist in the future and in turn, a better doctor when I return to my MD studies.â€

-Megh Mehta
